Larry's Life: "30 Days to Live"

At LifeChurch.tv we rolled out a life changing series about four weeks ago entitled, “30 Days to Live.”  There were several touching stories of individuals who had been given a short time to live on this earth.  There were none more compelling than the story of Larry Damerval, who not long ago was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig’s Disease.  Hearing Larry’s story provided me one of those life moments that will be seared into my memory bank forever; as well as the minds of countless others he touched.  Larry passed at roughly 11:00 P.M. this past Saturday night.  I truly believe that we will look back at Larry’s life and his interview, as one of those defining moments in the lives of potentially everyone associated with LifeChurch.tv.  May God provide comfort, peace and strength for the family of this truly special man whose life has touched the lives of so many of us.

If you have not had the opportunity to see his heartfelt interview answering the question, “What would you do if you had 30 days to live?”  You can check it out here.

Are you living in the moment?  What would you do if you only had 30 Days to Live?  Are you leaving a legacy that honors God?

Larry was such an Awesome man with a great heart. The best part about him is that you could tell that he loved his family and God more than words could say. His interview was so emotionally beautiful and heartfelt. Thorough Larry’s struggles… he found great peace in knowing God. He found joy in his friends and family who had supported him through so much. Larry’s life should be a representation of how we should live. If there’s something left undone today do it. If there’s someone you haven’t told about Christ… don’t wait but do it now. We are placed here on this earth to be a living example of Christ Jesus.

My one prayer is that I would bring honor and glory to Jesus. I pray each day that I would live my life to accomplish those two things.

I want everything I do to scream Christ!

Are there days when I don’t live like this? Of course, but I want to believe that if I died tomorrow people would know that I had a passion for the ONE who had a passion for me…

Anna- I know that your legacy would definitely reflect that passion!

Kim- You are exactly right, his story has definitely challenged me.

I saw his interview via Floating Axhead and was so sorry to hear he had passed. On the other hand, you know he’s rejoicing with a healed body in the presence of God. Wow. Isn’t THAT something?

I just watch that video for the first time. I’m crying as I write this. I recently had some surgery the first time in my life, which was outpatient. I was not in control for the first time in my life. For the first 2 days I could not walk I had to call on my wife for everything. It made me realize that all my life I have been a independent man my whole life. Then it hit me! I need to be dependent on God, and that I’m not as strong as I think. The way I called on my wife, I should call on the lord. How I waited on my wife to come and help me. I need to do the same with God. Even when I called her several times, and It would take her some time to hear me, I waited patiently because I needed her! Like I need God. People say they have faith, but man it’s nothing like been bound to a bed or a wheel chair. Watching Larry video has made me understand a lot of things, and I thank God for it. All that I wrote came to me as I was pecking at the key board,so forgive me if I wrote to much! God bless you All!!!!!!!
