Friday Drive-by (9)

RANDOM BULLETS:

LifeChurch.tv:  NW Oklahoma City Campus

  • Attendance was down last week due to the horrible ice storm.  We have 100% chance of snow today and tomm.
  • Child Dedications are this weekend.
  • I will be rolling out campus vision/goals for 08′,  in a couple of weeks.

Life:

  • Wesley and Jayden are both signed up to play B-ball.  Jayden’s team currently does not have a coach.  I might coach so they won’t cancel the team, you can’t break the hearts of 4yr. olds.
  • I think my wife is going to do the Christmas shopping this weekend, depending upon the weather.  I don’t like Christmas shopping, gift cards are the best.

Poll:

  • Participate in the poll question about Santa at the bottom/right of my blog.

Sports:

  • I don’t know what to think about the Mitchell Report, dealing w/ MLB and steroids.  I am beginning to think that the people really don’t care.  If you have a positive tests great…. who knows, there were obviously a bunch of people who used performance enhancing drugs either knowingly or not.  See fan reaction here.

Question:

What do you think about Barack Obama and Oprah’s endorsement of him?

If you don’t like to talk politics: Is your Christmas shopping is done, or do you wait til’ Christmas Eve?

Thanks for reading, have a great weekend!

a little snow & ice really shuts things down when you live in the south, huh? …learned that last week while in Branson. here in Detroit, we just go about our business like normal… snow, ice, sleet, bullets, whatever… we just work through it! Ha!

i’m nearly done with Christmas shopping… a lot of online purchases and a little late night mall hopping (aided by 1-2 Starbucks)!

My shopping is so not done. But I’ll wrap it up by next Friday.

    Thanks for the plug, friend.

Steering clear of politics, my Christmas shopping is complete! Just need to wrap. Thanks for asking, Scott. You’re so thoughtful :)

Chilly- It does shut down, school has been out for a week for my youngest son. Thise ice storm has been rough.
Gina- I don’t like shopping for Christmas; my wife likes shopping, what a great combo. :-)
Cindy- Not many people will dive into the politics, it’s sometimes difficult for me to steer away because of my background working in politics. That’s impressive; I’m looking forward to your posts next week.

    christmas shopping?….not yet :

The paravane house is cold and empty. Most of the people have fled to relatives or hotels. A cold wind sweeps the ice coated streets in anticipation of the next perfect storm. We’ve had to invade the in-laws in Bella Vista. What do Americans do during hard times like these? I’m going to Disneyland! OK, not really. But it’s the perfect time to go see The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air makes a zombie movie AKA I Am Legend.

David- It was great chatting w/ you today!
Jimmy- You are such a witty writer! Let me know what you think of I am Legend if you see it before I get a chance.

I won’t get started on all the political rambling. I will say, I plan on finishing my Christmas shopping tomorrow! We’ll see how it goes! And… Thanks for praying over our family today when we dedicated sweet Tobin! God is Good!
