Free Is The New Friday (2)

Last week was the big kick off for the new Free Stuff Friday thing happening only over here at BigIsTheNewSmall.com.  I told you last week that I would pick a random name to win each week; since last week was the initial week and I was providing the Free Stuff, I decided to pick the person who came up with the name.  Drum Roll…The Winner of a Copy of “The Shack” or a signed copy of “it” is my man Kyle.

Kyle came up with the name “Free Is The New Friday” which was the personal favorite for the readers and myself.  Kyle will receive a week add space on BigIsTheNewSmall and mad props for coming up with the name.  You can check out Kyle’s blog: a tentmakers journey by clicking here!  Go show him some BigIstheNewSmall comment luv.

Here is the “Free Is The New Friday” deal for this week.  We are giving away at-least $10 giftcard a $25 giftcard to a restaurant of your choice (the reason it’s at-least a $10 giftcard, It’s  a $25 giftcard because I’m allowing the sponsor to determine the amount).  All you have to do to enter is to post a comment sharing your favorite restaurant; you can even tell us why the restaurant is your favorite.

If you would like to sponsor this week and receive a week add on BigIsTheNewSmall and “Free Is The New Friday” bragging rights, all you need to do is be the first person to comment “I’ll sponsor this week!”  Your only obligation is at least a $10 gift card; and remember it’s much better to give than receiveSteve has already agreed to sponsor!

I will do a video drawing next Friday and everyone who comments will have a chance to win.  One entry per person; however you can comment as much as you would like.  All entries must be commented by Sun. August 10th. Wed. August 13th at 11:59 p.m. central time.

Thanks for reading and remember “Free Is The New Friday!”

Chili’s is one of my favorite, simply for the sake of consistency. I know I can’t win, I just wanted to get the ball rolling!

My wife and I enjoy Charleston’s here in Tulsa. A $25 gift card would take care of the majority of the meal there. of course, if the winner of “Free Is The New Friday” is from elsewhere we can choose another favorite.

  • http://steveharrison1.blogspot.com/ steveharrison

Meant to include “I will sponsor this week”…

  • JUDY

    Ahhhhhhhh….Chili’s…if I am in OKC…Toby Kieth’s

  • Scott Williams

Wow! We are kicking this baby off right! A $25 giftcard is up for grabs (See Steve Harrison’s Comments), share your fav. restaurant for a chance to win.

Ohhhh, PF CHANG! And how timely that my favorite restaurant is a Chinese one??. . . Ties into the Olympics and all that which officially begin today. BTW, all you Free is the New Friday commenters, 8 is the luckiest number in Chinese culture so I suppose it’s a particularly good day to enter a drawing. :)

Eating out. I don’t care where, especially if I’m not buying. (grin) I love Chinese buffets, but I’d have to give the nod to Denny’s. Not just because they have a good mushroom burger, but some of my best memories of getting together with aliens have been at Denny’s.

  • http://www.dustytakle.com Dusty

Solshine, a salmon burger? Don’t think I could stomach that one. But I can stomach most everything else. Scott, I will sponsor SOMETHING. Just give me some time to decide just what. And, I know Judy. She looks for any chance to visit her boy in the city.

I’m a fan of County Line BBQ. It’s really good. And I’m a proud carnivore so I appreciate yummy brisket, ribs, etc. Also they have homemade bread that is delicious!

  • http://whosreadsthisstuff.blogspot.com/ K Ford

I’m gonna agree with Steve. Charleston’s is scrumptulescent. I worked there for 2 summers, mostly for the free food. Raspberry vinegarette dressing, honey-butter croissants, mmmm. I’m making myself hungry just thinking about it. =)

  • http://www.dustytakle.com Dusty

K Ford, those honey-butter croissants from Charleston’s are delish. But, I must tell you that the fat and caloric content equal that of a Krispy Kreme doughnut. I needed counseling after I learned such.

  • Scott Williams

Alonso- If its that cheap, then I’m moving to Peru :-) ! Well msybe not moving, but I would like to visit.
Jimmy- The best Chinese Buffet is in Mustang!
    Dusty- You got next week!
Emily- County line is one of the only restaurants left in OKC that has Beef ribs; since Tony roma’s left.
    Judy- I’m w/ you!
    Robin- Maybe you will win!
    Robin- Crab cakes eh’ OK!
Rachelle- I have never eaten at 501; however I have had the Coyote Chicken sandwich at the Arts Festival. We need to come see Wyatt; I saw pictures and he’s huge he is ready to play football.
KFord- Charleston’s crossaints are great, just to expensive… Cheddars has the same ones for $3 cheaper. Unfortunately we dont have a cheddars.
Dusty- I can eat a whole basket… not to much of a Krispy Kreme fan anymore… we have them every weekend at church,

My favorite restaurant is…Harry’s (Seafood Bar & Grill). I think that’s a national chain…if not, and it needs to be one, then I’ll go with Outback.

I’m a big fan of freebies especially during today’s difficult economy. I’m just done with college and no luck landing a job yet. As I look around me, most of my friends are settling mediocre jobs or just doing part time gigs to make ends meet.

Times are hard and freebies help every bit. ;)

Here is my first share. I found this on Google and have signed up to a few of their freebies already. It’s a blog that is updated regularly with free things such as free gift cards, samples, etc.

    Enjoy!
