Oklahoma, Auburn & Florida State Win!

The above title will be the big headline after tomorrow’s crazy day of college football.  I know this may sound like wishful thinking; however I really believe this is how things will play out.  I have been known to have some, what I like to call accurate predictions here at BigIsTheNewSmall.com.  As the college football season is winding down, I would like to share a few bullet points of what I’m thinking. 

Here it goes:

  • Texas is rolling out the 45-35 signs and campaign to remind voters they already beat OU and the score; Does Texas Tech need to launch a 39-33 campaign & shouldn’t they be ahead of Texas?
  • Unfortunately without a playoff system; you have to go with the hottest team… and the current hottest team is (drum roll) My Sooners!
  • I really can’t stand the fact that we have to use computers and scenarios to find the true champion.
  • OU will have 3 #1 draft picks after this year: Sam Bradford/NFL, Blake Griffin/NBA and Courtney Paris WNBA… NOW WHAT!
  • I would like for the scenario to playoff where we could play the Texas Shorthorns again for the National Championship; the end result would not be the same.
  • OSU we are rolling into Stillwater for a Bedlam match-up that you’ll never forget!

    Dude, I don’t know a ton about football, but just because you called Obama doesn’t mean that your Sooners are winning. (There’s my smack talk for ya.) :) I do agree with you about the whole OU/Texas/Texas Tech ranking dilemma, though. No matter how Bedlam goes down, someone in the Braly household will be a very happy fan tomorrow night!

    Oh, and just so ya know Scott. I would sell off my first born son, heck I’d give him away for that matter, to see a Championship game tween OU and the Longhorns just so the horns could rub it in all over again. :)

    dude…what was in your turkey yesterday? :) Everyone gets upset, except your Sooners? That’s what I’d call a predictable prediction.

    Strong argument could be made for Flordia being the hottest team. Texas isn’t exactly “cold” either.

    Finally, I tend to think the scoreboard argument works well. If you try to throw out the head to head matchup in this system you take out one of the few things that makes sense. OU and UT played head to head and UT beat ‘em. (and pretty soundly too) If you want to take up a case for TT against UT, then you play the head to head card like you should. But, I don’t think you are a TT apologist.

    Alabama and Florida win.

    What good is it for OU to win all these games if all they do is go to the big one and get choked out? I hope OSU saves them the embarrassment by doing that to them early so that way they have a better chance of winning their bowl game this year.

    @Kyndal- CoJust because I called Obama does mean my Sooners are winning. I’m glad Brett will be happy after the game.
    @Kevin- I knew that I could expect a comment from you… Bama is good, I’m not even going to har, I just think this is rgere biggest game yet with the rivalry and all the marbles on the line.
    @John- I hoe your wish comes true! :-)
    @Brian- I agree that an argument for Florida is a good one, but they have the eorse loss of the one loss teams on their homefield. In this system it is better to loose earlier than later here is what happened later OSU takes texas to the wire in Austin, Texas Tech Beats Texas and OU could have scored 100 on Tech and the 21 pts. they scored were afterthoughts with the 3rd. string. Has the best wins and the best loss if such a thing exists.
    @Patrick- I make no excuses about our bowl losses; the key is that we are in a BCS bowl almost every year and will be in the national championship this year… The pokes in STW actually concern me a bit (just a bit)
    @Jonathan- Me either, I just heard them talking about it on local sports radio. :-)

    I (Gator fan) am not looking past Florida State, but I think that UF is playing on a different level. I envision the Gators taking care of business on Ron Zook Field.

    I hope that Bama beats Auburn because it would be sweet for the Gators to knock off #1 and roll to the title game!

    Oklahoma is a good team, to be sure. The hottest team? Have you even watched a Florida game this year, hmmmmm?

    Personally, I don’t really want to know what Mr. Obama has to say about much of anything, except if he would do the country a favor and give back the win. Now, that would be sweet.

    I do believe Florida has been handing out hats at the end of each of the last several games they’ve played. Tebow hasn’t had to finish a game in several weeks now, because the scores have been so lopsided.

    Let’s all say it together, “Go, Gators!”

    @cindy- I will take being wrong and accept the headline of: “Florida State and Auburn Get Stomped.” As long as I got the only headline that matters “Red Hot Sooners Play For Big 12 Championship and in Route to BCS Championship… Boomer Freakin’ Sooner Shorthorns!”

    I hope the shorthorn fan enjoyed the wasted $20,000 Flyover… somebody needs to Bail Him Out!

    UT beat OU…soundly. Had OU beat UT (on a neutral field) and UT was ranked higher can you honestly say you’d be cool with that?

    Competitors always say “let’s decide it on the field…” Apparently the BCS has taken away the best way to decide what team is better. I mean…head to head on a neutral field is as good as it gets to decide the better man. UT rose up and hit OU in the mouth and that should be factored foremost into the BCS equation. It’s probably the only thing the BCS left out…the thing that makes the most sense. Go figure.

    In the words of Cindy Beall….I’m just sayin’…that…UT beat OU.
