Today’s post will in the form of a simple statement and a simple question:

  • Simple Statement: Twitter Is The New Blogger!
  • Simple Question: Is Twitter Killing Blogging/Are Less People Reading Blogs Because of Twitter?

Twitter has def taken over my social networking world…less time, more interaction, more personal…I dig.

I still love blogging and reading other blogs. I think of twitter more like texting on the phone (leaving a short message). Blogging allows me to see the more personal side of the story (with pictures in most cases).

I have just started FB and I LOVE IT!!!…I have never twittered because I was told it was like having a personal stalker? Am I wrong? Twitter just follows you during your day right? Blogging is more of a public diary and a place to write…help a sister out people?

I agree with Cyndi. Twitter does give an opportunity for daily interaction….I know when to pray for people! :) (like when they are losing their voice before a weekend of speaking) Great job, btw.

Scott for me I prefer reading the blogs.

I’m definitely finding that I read blogs less and like to interact with twitterers. I am finding though that I am keeping up with fav blogs through twitter.

Twitter’s great for staying in touch, but, depending on the blog, blogging is way more personal and/or informative. Love ‘em equally :)

for me to READ- i love to read blogs when i have the time, however i do enjoy short, funny, to the point tweets throughout the day (you know that some people who write seven paragraph blogs COULD have made their point in 140 characters or less! LOL).

for me to WRITE- it is so easy to get lazy about blogging when twitter is so handy. and for me, i see a lot of little, funny things throughout my day, but it doesn’t need a whole blog- just a twitpic will do! :)

bottom line- i don’t see myself quitting either any time soon. but if you follow my twitter, you’re sure to get more regular updates.

    great post!

I am still an avid blog reader and search for new and interesting blogs. The issue with twitter is that most of it is pure spam drivel that is driven by the gurus of the get rich brigade. Twitter, nah. Twaddle, yes.

I actually click on the link to a tweet’s blog whenever they post it on twitter. It’s a great reminder to read their sweetness.

I must confess my blogging has definitely tapered off since I started Twittering. Twitter, for me, provides a creative outlet and generally doesn’t take as much time as blogging. I still enjoy blogging, however I don’t post as often. With that said, I plan to blog more in the future.

i have yet to try out twitter.

Nah – I wouldn’t say that just yet. I think blogging has its place and twitter has its too. I think they go well together though. You know, like olive oil and butter when you’re searing meats or like garlic and shallots when making the base for a pan sauce…I mean, you get the picture, right – lol?

well now that Darius got my mouth watering…
I totally agree. They both have there place. I really think that twitter will refine the blog more than eliminate it. When I read a blog I don’t so much care about the day to day things that Twitter updates tend to be about “Just ate at Zio’s with my wife”. Though I do like hearing what people are up to. But as for the blog, doing away with those kind of updates allows the blog to be more deep meaningful updates. Things that really generate thought.
And I have to say, constantly seeing your tweets reminds me to check up on BigIsTheNewSmall.com

    Thats my take on it.

I don’t think so….it seems it has become more of a communication tool….the meat of stuff will still be on blogs

Yes and Yes. The more I twitter, the less I blog.

I think that they both serve different purposes. I love to Twitter because you all are so far away I can say a quick Hi. Follow how your day is. I wouldn’t trade reading the blogs though. That is where I get some of my best learning. It is also where I get to say more then HI!

    I like them both!!
