Ok, I just added you to my blog list, so I'll answer this question about your blog – and why I plan to come back.
a. I like to check out people of color and what they are up to on the web.
b. I saw your comment on @ShawnaCoronado article about being yourself on Twitter
c. As an executive coach I both nodded and shuddered at your comment about "fake coaches and gurus" (quick reality check with self: I know you are right, because I have run into the shysters myself. What – exactly – makes me different???)
d. Item c sent me sailing over to your blog for a look-see.
e. I Like.
Most of the blogs I read are written by people I know personally in real life, or through Twitter. I read them in order to learn more about that person. If I'm reading a blog written by someone I do not know, then I am there because they have some sort of content that is teaching me something I did not previously know.
I come to yours specifically because I want to connect with other campus pastors. In general the blogs I read I do so because of content or connection with the author. I will say though my blog reading has diminished since really engaging with twitter.
Thanks for reading bro. I to like to connect with other CP's and ministry leaders.

I read the blogs i read to learn about new ideas, to be challenged in my thinking and in some cases connect with the people that write the blogs. I visit a few blogs regularly in the areas that I am interested in like: Ministry, leadership, technology, business, marketing, innovation etc.

I feel responsible to know what church leadership is up to–what they're reading, what they're learning, and which direction they are going.
To learn, be challenged, provoked, to laugh, to think, to dream, to be nosy, to question…

I read different blogs for different reasons. it all started when my pastor started blogging. Then I clicked this link and that link. I really enjoyed the comments and started reading commenter's blogs. It has stretched out to included other states and countries. I read pastor's blogs that give me insight and teach. I read a lot of women's blogs that are in all stages and walks of life. Some are my mentors, Some I may mentor, Some are friends that we mentor eachother. I also read some really amazing artist's blogs. I love to see their artwork.
Basically I read Blogs to learn, listen, see and feel connected. I also like to let people know I am here.

I read people's blogs to stay connected to people, both those I know, and those I like to know. I love ideas, and blogs are a great way to share ideas and stories. Some use blogs to monologue and lecture, and I'm much less interested in those.
I agree on the monologue bit… I only read a few blogs that don't allow comments!

I read blogs for bloggers(churchcrunch.com and problogger.net) I read blogs from people who inspire (Brogan;Grodin;Guy Kawasaki) and ones where I like their style of writing(John Grogan;Shaun in the City) and people that write and design well.

I read different blogs for different reasons…
This one (BigisTheNewSmall) in particular I read because I feel "invested" in LifeChurch… its one of the churches I regularly pray for…
In particular it gives me a snapshot of how to pray for the leadership… and also a voice… to speak from the "virtual rooftops" what is whispered in my ear from the secret closet…
I enjoy seeing how God is answering prayer… and sometimes not in the way I expect…
Since I can't always get to know the leadership personally… I can peak… and rejoice, or passionately make my requests known this way…
