One Artist… One Song

one-songI would like for everyone (Including RSS Readers) to share One Christian or Secular Artist/Group and One Song they sing.  It can be a song that you really like, your favorite song, a new song that’s speaking to you, something you heard on the radio, something that you heard at a friends house, a song you liked from church this past weekend, a new tune  you just downloaded… or just simply One Artist… One Song that you would like to share.

    Hey, man…

I don’t know the original artist, but I just heard for the first time the song “To Make You Feel My Love” when Kris Allen sang it on American Idol. I’m the consummate balladeer (Mark Driscoll would hate some of my worship stuff) and am definitely diggin’ this song!

Hey, on the Christian music tip, I’ve been diggin’ Anthony Evans’ (Tony Evans’ son) version of “Blessed Be Your Name”. I thought WE rock that joint at Mosaic, but AE put some flava on it for real!

    Just one?

The last song I just listened to was “Vito’s Ordination Song” by Sufjan Stevens so I’ll go with that. It’s a good one.

Right now I’m listening to Donnie McClurkin’s “We Fall Down.” I heard it on Christian radio on the way home from work last night and I almost had to pull the car over! That song has such an anointing. It encouraged me to keep moving forward even when I miss the mark. I’ve been playing it repeatedly since then because it so resonates in my spirit.

keep going back to ‘Alpha and Omega’ by Israel and New Breed. It’s just pure worship. Simple lyrics and the organ solo near the end is beautiful.
