The Purpose Of A Birthday!

my bdayToday I celebrate my 36th Birthday which means I’m closer to 40 than not.  I have never been a huge Birthday, Pomp and Pagentry Celebration kinda guy; maybe I will do it big when I turn 40.  When you have children you tend to look at Birthdays Like the Trix Cereal Commercial… “Silly rabbit Birthdays are for kids!”

As adults, often times we will look at a Birthday as just another day.  Birthday’s really are important, not necessarily for the person that is having the Birthday but for those whose life has been impacted by the person having the birthday.  My buddy @iChilly  made a simple but profound statement about The Purose Of A Birthday and I wanted to share it with you.  He stated: “It’s NOT just another day – It’s the day God chose to begin your earthly mission!”  Enough said… Happy Birthday to me!

Share your thoughts this post, @iChilly’s  statement or how you view Birthday’s!

I saw @iChilly’s response earlier and it really struck me. I am one of those who thinks it’s just another day and I, too, have never been one to celebrate my birthday with much hoopla. I need to remember that it’s not about me, but about God choosing to place me here, now, for a purpose.

    Thanks, and Happy Birthday!!!

You guys would be in trouble here. We celebrate everything. And birthdays are the most important. I mean think about it, what famous birthday do we celebrate big time (and I don’t mean the commercial end of it)? The birth of Jesus!

God knew from the foundations of the world that someday you’d be born and rise up to believe His Word. If that’s not worth celebrating, I don’t know what is…Happy Birthday Scott!!!

Love that statement about your birthday. Very impactual. Gonna remember that one. Happy Birthday Scott!! The other good news about birthdays is God is not done with what he wants you to do, your race is not finished, so pick up those feet, kick it into high gear.

Oh ye of little faith. I love getting to say that. (grin)
Surely your Heavenly Father feels the same way about your birthday as you do about your kids’ birthdays. Times a zillion. Which must mean that He wants to give you something really special. Probably only requires you being willing to accept that possibility. But what do I know. (grin)
