"Homeless Please Help" Homeless Man Speaks!

Watch the video and share your thoughts on panhandlers and homeless people on the side of the road. Do you generally help (money, food, hygiene items etc.)? What thoughts go through your mind when you pull up to the intersection? What are your thoughts regarding Kevin’s perspective?

Note: It’s a little windy, but it helps with the ambiance! 🙂

  • Scott, thanks for posting this. Storytelling is pretty powerful and I think people will be touched by stories like this. It’s too bad about the wind, but I hope you keep posting and sharing things like this to inspire people. Thanks Bro

  • If I am in a position to stop and offer money/help, i do.

I have seen the same women in a local intersection a few times and now i have packages in my car to give her with water and food in them (and a gift card to eat)

We are told by Jesus to love God and then we are told to love our neighbors. So in essence if you love God you will love your neighbor, if won’t love your neighbor you don’t love God. As a follower of Christ this is how we express our faith (Galatians 5:6) don’t just drive by…don’t just give a little food …what does that cost you? Get involved in a homeless person’s life dig in be a friend…LOVE can change everything. You can get more info here about Homelessness here http://www.endhomelessness.org

    Isaiah 58:6
“This is the kind of fast day I’m after: to break the chains of injustice, get rid of exploitation in the workplace, free the oppressed, cancel debts. What I’m interested in seeing you do is: sharing your food with the hungry, inviting the homeless poor into your homes, putting clothes on the shivering ill-clad, being available to your own families. Do this and the lights will turn on, and your lives will turn around at once. Your righteousness will pave your way. The God of glory will secure your passage. Then when you pray, God will answer. You’ll call out for help and I’ll say, ‘Here I am.

It’s true what Kevin says about the shelters not being all that safe. I’ve always had a heart to build shelters and self support them but I wonder, is it possible to really keep all that “junk” out of what is supposed to be a safe place? It really makes you think.
