"Quickie" 5 Step Leadership Quickshop

quickie.jpgNeed a Quickie?  Okay, here is a 5 step leadership quickshop:

  1. If you loose your cool or your temper; you will loose respect.
  2. Don’t be afraid to empower others and give some leadership away.
  3. You can’t give a rip about what people think; stay focused.
  4. If you micromanage, you are insecure and you need to get a life.
  5. Be bold, don’t compromise, stay true to who you are and people will follow!
  6. Bonus: Always maintain a high degree of integrity… No Integrity = No Leader!

What are your thoughts or experiences with any of theses leadership principles?  Again, share your thoughts or share your own quickies!  BigIsTheNewSmall

Scott, again this post validifies why I visit your blog so often, great leadership principles.
My favorite? #4…NO not Brett Favre
“4.If you micromanage, you are insecure and you need to get a life.”
It shocks me how many people IN leadership have this insecurity, the need to “micro-manage” people, FIND the right person, power feed them the vision and get out of the way. Check in every once and a while cuz vision leaks but If your gonna Micro manage me you might as well do the job, right? Trust in your people, if they are the right people let them lead.

Scott, I could agree more with your quick five. For me #1 and #5 are so important. I’ve found in my own ministry that if I loose my cool or have a moment of male pms that I loose equity with my leaders and peers. It is so important that a leader has temperance in his/her life. The bible even points out that leaders are to be slow to anger. Integrity I personally thing should be number one on your list. A person doesn’t stop being a leader when they go home. You have to live out what you preach. The lines of how you live should be consistent whether
you are in your area of influence or at rest. Integrity is what you live out 24/7. Great post Scott.
