The More I Listen To God…

listenThe More I Listen To God... the less I listen to people.  The More I Listen To God, the more able I am to discern the intentions of people.  The more I tune into God’s frequency, the easier it is to tune out the ambient noise of the lesser frequencies.  The More I Listen To God, the more able I am to find “God Moments” in all aspects of life.

The More I Listen To God, the closer I draw to God.  The closer I draw to God, the closer He draws to me. James 4:8

God is always talking, I’m just becoming better at listening.

The More I Listen To God…

Thank you-way too often I need a reminder such as this!

In the quiet, stillness… That’s where it’s at. That’s where my ego
gets smacked around and I’m reminded that I was created by HIM,
for HIM, peace, strength, yeah listening to God speak.
That’s where it’s at. Love this post.

So how are you hearing from God? Can you describe some ways you hear from God?

  • Scott Williams

Avery~ clear discernment of situations, direction, counsel… Peace, clarity, vision! Revelations from life’s daily stuff… HIS word speaks louder & clearer! It’s all of that and then some, being sensitive to The Spirit!

God is always talking, I’m just becoming better at listening.

I like that quote… listening is the best!!!

The more I listen to God…

The more I grow to know Him…

    and to know myself.

Hey, if you guys listen to God and he speaks to you, and if other people from other denominations also listen to God and he speaks to them, why then is there such a discrepancy in beliefs and interpretations in each denomination?

Is it perhaps the ritual and self reflection of the quiet time that actually brings you peace?

  • Avery

    Hulk … awesome question…

Truth is though, there isn’t any discrepancy on beliefs that make one a “Christian” no matter which denom…

On the essentials i.e. Jesus is God, we are sinners, Jesus died on the cross paying the penalty for our sin, and rose from the dead, making atonement for our sins, and saving us from eternal judgment…

On these there is no discrepancy in Christian theology…

On these things God’s Spirit makes all Christians “ONE”…

To be a “Christian” one must believe the essentials, because those things come from God, and aren’t subject to interpretation…

All the rest on the minor issues is just the freedom God gave us to express our worship…

Hulk; there is too a God! And so there! (grin)

Avery; or maybe it’s because they don’t like what they here. Oh wait, that’s me. (grin)

  • Avery

Ha… Jimmy if it were popular stuff… then a lot of people would have been spared their heads!!! Literally!!! But that doesn’t stop it from growing… there must be some truth in that somewhere… else how could truths so unpopular keep on growing…

Avery, you completely missed my use of the intentionally misspelled word. Dangit. What good is a gimmick if nobody gets it?
OK, Scott. I’ll stop now. (grin)
