"I Like Your Style!"

styleThe phrase “I Like Your Style!” is one of those seemingly un-meaningful  phrases that is actually the ultimate compliment.

The word style is defined as: A particular, distinctive, or characteristic mode of action or manner of acting or execution.

By this definition when someone says, “I Like Your Style!” they are saying they like the manner in which you do what you do.  We have all heard this phrase “It’s not what you say… it’s how you say it!”  That phrase is very similar to “I Like Your Style!”

There are many different ways to lead, parent, teach, coach, preach, write, sing, draw, dress, paint… the important things is for individuals to find their style and execute those things in the manner in that’s unique to them.  I have never heard someone say, “I Like The Fact That Your Style Is Identical to So and So’s!”  Nope, you’re not going to hear that phrase often nor do you want to.  You might get an every now and again “I Like Your Style, It’s Similar to So and So!” and that’s perfectly OK, we all have inspirations from outside sources and similarities to others.  Find you and yours… MAKE IT YOUR OWN!

One of the many keys to Life is to find your style.  Who knows someone may pay you the ultimate compliment and say, “I Like Your Style!”

    That is a great thought, Scott! I have been reading a new book called “Trust Agents” which about building influence, improving reputation and earning trust trough social media, and one of the main take aways for me so far is to “make it your own.”

    It is actually kind of fun to create and present your own style in real life and on the web.

    Authenticity is found when YOU feel comfortable in YOUR OWN skin. There is nothing more cool to see than a person being who GOD created them to be, ALL in themselves, unique.
    Yeah, I dig it.
    I love it when people have said, yo, I like your style bro, it reminds me that I’m still in tune with who I really am, not faking it, not trying to be someone I’m not, there is something real there, people connect to that authenticity.
    So, Scott, yo, dude, homie, I like your style bro, Holla.

    This is my absolute favorite compliment to receive! It’s great when someone says, “you’re pretty”. But when someone lets you know they “like your style”, it is a whole other level. It means you have achieved that look you were going for; that the vibe you’re giving off is quality. Nothing beats it.

    Sure I have, who hasn’t? The real question is who among us has the guts to tell someone when you absolutely can’t stand their style??
