Do You Have What It Takes?
Do You Have What It Takes? is one of the most ambiguous questions that a person can ask. This question was brought to the forefront of my mind this past Sunday as I was watching my favorite NFL Team “The Minnesota Vikings” obliterate the Chicago Bears.
I was watching the oldest QuarterBack in the NFL, 40 year old Hall of Famer Brett Favre have one of the games of his life. He literally man handled the Chicago Bears Defense and made every one of the Vikings offensive players better. This is the same Quarterback that the Green Bay Packers ushered to retirement a couple of years back basically saying “He No Longer Had What It Takes!”
As I was watching the game I posted this tweet: “Brett Favre = Just because your boss doesn’t believe U have what it takes, doesn’t mean U don’t have what it takes.” This post was retweeted many many times, by many many people and I believe it resonated with so many people for one simple reason, It’s True. Favre was once quoted as saying this: “Some of the most talented players don`t always succeed. Some don`t even make the team. It`s more what`s inside.” I totally agree, the majority of the time, it’s about what’s on the inside.
We live in a world where bosses, peers, society, environment, parents, coaches… define whether or not we have what it takes. We must mentally get to the place where we believe the only people who can define whether or not we have what it takes is “Ourselves & God.” Work hard, believe, grow, learn, keep your cup half-full, dream Big and think Bigger.
Do You Have What It Takes? That’s up to You and God!

So many have told me “you can’t do it” that for a long time I BELIEVED IT.
I looked at what they said, where I was at, and what I had accomplished. The only place that I failed to look was inside myself.
Thanks to a renewed vision, I am on my way to accomplishing great things for God.
He placed the right stuff inside of me!
I love what Favre has done (and is doing)! Playing his best ball at +40! I’m definitely feelin’ that… check out my post about this: http://www.ichilly.com/?p=3245
Never quit!

Love it. Not to go all John Eldridge – Wild At Heart on everybody, but a couple of months ago I stood in the parking lot of a Starbucks with a mentor. He looked me in the eye and said, “You’ve got it. You’ve got what it takes.” There are not too many words that are sweeter than such a blessing. While I’ve got to believe it and live it out, I also am challenged to be the one to be that encourager and speak that kind of truth into someone else. Thanks for this post, because it’s a refresher course for me.
