I do think, however, that we keep in perspective where our ability to shine & be great comes from - that be boast in Christ and not in ourselves. Perhaps our deepest fear is that we are powerful because Christ is working in us and through us. The ability we have to impact the world around us for good because of him is a scary thought if you ask me. Because with it comes immense responsibility! I heard this poem quoted for the first time in the movie, "Akeelah and the Bee", and made it my mantra for several months. However, my biggest fear is: "Being so sure of something, only to find that I was only fooling myself. Or to put it another way... Going hard after something for years, and either failing at it or finding out that I was going after the wrong thing." In other words... Fear of FAILURE.
