New Blogging Phenomenon

phenomenonI am typing this while chillin’ in Miami Beach Florida on a Spring Break Vacation with my family.  I have a number of great guest blogpost’s lined out to share; however I decided to share a new blogging phenomenon that I am creating as I type these few lines.  A phenomenon is defined asan exceptional, unusual, or abnormal person, thing, or occurrence.

If you are trying to come up with something to write and find that you have writers block, information overload or you just don’t feel like writing.   Simply type these words below for your blog title and the body of the post.

Title: “I Don’t Feel Like Sharing Anything Today!”

Body of Post: I Don’t Feel Like Sharing Anything Today!  If you have something to share feel free to leave a comment.  Thanks!

It’s freeing to type those words and just look at your computer screen and smile. :-)  If you find yourself typing this same post over and over, it might be time to join the blog club that millions of bloggers have already joined before you.  It’s called the “I Once Had A Blog Club.”  Membership to that club does have it’s privileges.

I Don’t Feel Like Sharing Anything Today!  If you have something to share feel free to leave a comment.  Thanks!

This may come across as sounding crazy, but #FistBump, and thank you Scott. Thank you for giving me permission, as it were, to do something I’ve been far to afraid to do thus far. Admitting that I simply can come up with nothing to write about on my blog. I haven’t posted a new entry in quite a while although admittedly there was a big chunk of time where life had changed and focus had to be given elsewhere. That time has passed now, but I just can’t seem to corral my thoughts in an understandable manner in order to get back into the essence of my blog. It’s kind of feels like trying to remember where you left your car keys when your already late for a meeting.
With your permission though, I will use this “blogging phenomenon” you have shared Scott and hope it is the “key” I so desperately need for such a time as this.

Love this. I’ll have to get on this. As soon as I have time of course :)

This is a fantastic idea but it presupposes an engaged readership. Sometimes it’s hard to get comments on posts that I have thought about and feel like I have something to say. Maybe this will help engage those readers though.

SCOTT!!! Man, this was genius! I just added this to my own blog today. I’m preparing for a sermon this Sunday so this is going to fee me up as I prepare. Thank you.

I hear this all the time… about not having anything to say. I very, very rarely have nothing to say. In fact, most of the time, my reason for not writing is having too much to say (info overload as you said) and not enough time or energy to get it all down.

Last week, I read a post last week about this over at Problogger.net where it asked a bunch of popular bloggers if they ever deal with “writer’s block” and what they do to avoid it. A bunch of the bloggers said they never have a lack of ideas (an example that comes to mind is Chris Brogan).

Rather than looking for tips to get through writer’s block, I wander what that fundamental difference is between bloggers and writers who experience it and those who don’t. It seems to me like more than “getting through it” for some (like myself). It just never/rarely happens to me. But I don’t know where the difference is.

    P. S. By the way, I love the authenticity/freedom of this post, but I’d be careful with this advice too… I think I’d only read one of those posts from a blogger before I quit reading. As Thumper’s father told him, “If you don’t have something nice to say, don’t say nothing at all.”
