This Will Convince You To Get The iPhone 4

I am still in the debate on whether or not I should get the iPhone 4.  My family all have the iPhone 3G’s on T-Mobile. I can’t seem to get myself to move to AT&T with everyone that I talk to complaining about dropped calls.  On the other hand, I’m an Apple fan and having the latest greatest face-time device has tempted me to make the switch.

As I was pondering my wait, I saw video that my man @chaselayman shared.  This is basically a little mini short film that was all sot and edited on the iPhone 4.  If this phone can create a finished video product like the one featured above, it’s a no-brainer.  This just minimized me having to roll out my Flip or Creative Vado video cameras.

If you have an iPhone 4, this video will inspire you to maximize it’s video potential.  I you don’t have an iPhone 4, This Will Convince You To Get An iPhone 4.  Now if we can just get the no contracts, e-bay, craigslist prices to drop.

Share your thoughts on the video, your iPhone 4 experience and your decision whether or not to get one.

Too bad I can’t view the video on my iPhone… I really wanna be convinced ;-)

    • Scott Williams

Apple does a great job of making you want to be convinced… thats how I was b4 the iPad.

What, how talented. that little phone is going to change the amateur video business. I’m getting mine next week after all of the lines die down… i hope. Get you one SW!

      I think, I will!

Well, if the rumors are true that the iPhone4 will be on Verizon, I’ll wait. I have an upgrade coming in January and may get it.

Right now, I am using the Motorola Droid and will most likely grab the Droid X in a few weeks. It shoots HD video, has an amazing camera and the Android integrates so easy and awesome with Google products (the Google Voice integration alone rules – I can dial out using my regular number or Google Voice number) — and it runs on the best network in the country – Verizon. No dropped calls. Better 3G coverage with 4G rolling out this fall. AT&T’s 4G network is a year behind Verizon and Sprint.

The iPhone4 awesomeness unfortunately is still overshadowed by AT&T’s suckiness. Steve Jobs is no dummy. It’s no coincidence this leak about the iPhone for Verizon dropped mere days after AT&T was able to lock in current customers for another 2 years.

      Well said… ouch!

  • Daryl Goard

Yea its cool but there is still no way I am leaving VZ to try and play on ATT’s crappy network and let Apple dictate the way I use my phone. I’ll stay over here on my solid network and my Android phone.

    • Scott Williams

That’s sad that everyone says that!

Dude, I’m sold! That was beyond amazing!

    • Scott Williams

:-) unfortunately we al don’t have the creativity, equipment and skill to make one like that happen.. At least we know the potential.

It is recommended to have a proper setup for shooting video and/or you gotta be the video director. Otherwise even if I give a High end Video Cam (USD8999+) to someone who doesn’t have any artsy view, they won’t be even able to come anywhere close to this video.

There are other selling points for iPhone.. But I don’t think this is one of them.

    • Scott Williams

You are probably right… Potential is always an amazing attribute.

Although the rumors going to Verizon maybe true, I can’t wait until the yelling starts about their network. Different technology. Tell me CDMA network users, will you be able to place a call and use the internet at the same time? As soon as those devices start banging their network, you are going to hear the same stories as AT&T. That said I love my iPhone 4.

    • Scott Williams

We will have to see, honestly it’s crazy that a company that has that many complaints has the exclusive contract. They are the little sister to Apple, they do what Apple says.

  • Matt Wisner

Bro… the iPhone will be available on Verizon in January. I have a droid and love the Verizon network much better than my old AT&T iPhone contract.

    • Scott Williams

      That’s the rumor… Isn’t Verizon really expensive?

That entire idea to shoot a movie on the iphone 4 was sick! Apple has there pulse on what people what to do with technology, the fact that you can take your phone on a trip and do that in stead of taking your phone AND taking another device to record your movies…..smart.

I am not able to get the vidoe on my android.

Wow man, that’s pretty impressive. I’ve been on the fence as well, simply because I just picked up a new 3Gs in Feb, but each day I’m tempted even more to jump in and upgrade.

i’m late on this discussion. my experience with at&t has not been bad at all. it has not been that much difference from when i used verizon while living in florida for a little one summer. the tempting thing about the droid is it plays with google well, and i love google voice. but, it’s hard to walk away from the iphone. i’m thinking i’m going to wait for a month or so and get the 4. get the kinks out.

  • @davidtcopeland

I phone is a cool device locked on a network. The innovation now is from Android and multiple device companies/Motorola/HTC/Samsung all trying to out do each other. They will leave Apple in the dust. Sprint charges $35-$45 less a month for unlimited everything and the EVO/Epic are 4G.(disclaimer I work there. Customers also can upgrade devices once a year on the unlimited plan. This will keep you with the latest device.

  • Randa

I recently switched from verizon to AT&T and I have to say that verizon Is the best but I just couldn’t wait fir the iPhone to come out. I think it’s pretty crappy that AT&T did away with unlimited data plan. I mean did they really think people were only going to use there phones to talk? I love my iPhone but not a fan of AT&T

  • Jimmy Hankins

Uhm…did you say you’re using your iPhones on T-Mobile? Must resist teasing…(grin) The iPhone 4 is Apple’s “Vista”. They need to come out with their version “7″ really fast.

The Droid X is looking like the first serious iPhone competitor. Here’s a good review of it: http://www.anandtech.com/show/3826/motorola-droid-x-thoroughly-reviewed
