Listen To Your Gut!

If I had a dollar for every time that I’ve said these words myself or heard someone else utter the words, “I should have listened to my gut” I would be rich.  Listening to your gut is about responding to the intuitive feeling that’s rumbling inside of your stomach.  It often pertains to decisions, or an overall personal feeling about an individual or situation.

As we draw closer to God, it’s about listening to God’s whispers and being sensitive to the Holy Spirit. Wherever you are and whatever you call this intuitive feeling, start listening.  A good ol’ gut feeling will often times chart the correct path way before our little ol’ minds point the way.

“Experience taught me a few things. One is to listen to your gut, no matter how good something sounds on paper. The second is that you’re generally better off sticking with what you know. And the third is that sometimes your best investments are the ones you don’t make.” ~Donald Trump

There’s nothing left to say but “Amen!” How many times have we found ourselves saying, “Something TOLD me…” This is a concept that I think we often take for granted – so I’m passing it on. Thanks!

glad you said this, makes me feel better about trusting and listening to my gut.
I have done that several times where i have a bad feeling about something or someone and listened to my guy and usually I was right.
Sometimes I think we can over spiritualize it and try to listen for an audible voice. I struggled with that for a while because I felt that I needed to hear from God and just waited. When it seemed that all the time he was called me to move and do something.

    Great reminder

I think character, experiences and core values are what would be INSIDE my gut if I had to explain this decision making process in another way. I do think the combination of these things, when they mature are what we should naturally lean towards instead of making decisions on our heels.

Core values always play into a gut-level decision

Wow! Thank you for this and answering a prayer that I did indeed do the right thing by the Holy Spirit. I listened to my gut this week and took hiatus from my successful and growing professional photography business. Eeeek! Logically this is the dumbest decision I could make, but logic and God’s truth aren’t always the same thing. I couldn’t ignore “my gut” telling me that I was being called to the everything- my husband, my daughter, my home and my God.

    Thanks Scott! See you Sunday.

And call Matt, cause he has some big news to share with you and missed you last week! ;)

I’ll give him a call… Great to hear how you are processing your photography business decision
