Finding Inspiration

I always enjoy having conversations with creative arts type of people.  I love the way they process things, how they see things and their constant desire to find inspiration.  Poets may find inspiration from nature, the world and current issues around them.  Photographers may find inspiration from the work of other photographers, current style, trends and anything they can see.  Musicians may find inspiration from something burning deep down inside, telling a life story or being sensitive to the world around them.

You don’t have to be the creative type to always be looking for and finding inspiration.  Inspiration is around us every day.  You have to open your eyes and look for inspiration in all of the interactions that life brings you.

I call those little moments of inspiration “God Moments.”  If I look for those God moments in everything, I will find them.  Often times those moments reveal themselves when I’m spending time with family, friends and God.

Finding Inspiration

How do you find inspiration?

    It usually finds me. (grin)

Inspiration is linked to our creative genius. When we go about uninspired we have no creative juice. We bear the image of God when we live inspired because He is creator and when we are creative we look more like Him.

i make an assessment of the resources around me, people, objects, and do not focus on what i have in the present moment, but what can evolve and come to be, inspiration.

Somtimes I intentionally look for inspiration and sometimes inspiration finds me. I guess I like the times when it finds me better.

I learn. If I was going to have inspiration on something I already knew I would have had it by now. Learning from others and their perspective always seems to inspire me in one way or another.

I find inspiration in music, blogs, Church Online, social networking, and just in letting God be first and in the Bible.

You are right in that inspiration is all around us; we just need to open our eyes and be receptive.

Many times, those moments of inspiration come in my car, with the radio off and any other controllable sounds. Those moment open my mind and spirit to receive. It is one of the reasons I always have a notepad and pen in my car. I can jot down those inspirations during the next red light stop.

I think of myself as a creative person. I find a lot of inspiration in God’s creation and in nature. As i read through the Bible I find myself agreeing with some many of the authors finding God in his creation!!

As an artist and writer, I have found inspiration in many places, but one of the strongest places I find it is in airports. Seriously. I love airports – it’s the ultimate place of community. People from all over the world coming together for a short time as they prepare to embark for somewhere else. Every one of them has a story, and every one of them is going somewhere. It fascinates me. Thanks for sharing this.
