You Can Be Whatever You Want To Be

There is inside you
all of the potential to be whatever
you want to be
all of the energy to do whatever
you want to do.

Imagine yourself
as you would like to be,
doing what you want to do,
and each day, take one step
towards your dream.

And though at times it may seem too
difficult to continue,
hold on to your dream.

One morning you will awake to find
that you are the person
you dreamed of
doing what you wanted to do
simply because you had the courage
to believe in your potential
and to hold on to your dream.

dream BIG. think BIGGER.

Awesome post…it’s amazing what happens when you start to truly pursue your passion. I went through a season in my life where I was pursuing certain opportunities because I thought the ‘money’ would help me get into my calling (aka what I was passionate about) faster. Turns out I was wrong. But when I started focusing on my passion, I truly came alive on the inside. Now things are coming together! Thanks for the inspiring post.

Unfortunately, the opposite is true as well. You can be your own worse nightmare. However, I’ve found that behaving in a godly fashion can turn that around. Now if I can only find the passion to overcome the fear of facing into the right direction. Staring God in the face while admitting to yourself you’ve become your own worse nightmare will freak you out. (grin)

Thanks. I needed that today! I’m dreaming of a future where God leads our family to work full-time in ministry for Him. (In a warmer climate.) HA HA Sometimes, it seems impossible because of all the details that would need to come together – but I will keep dreaming. :)

Yes, very cool. Sometimes we all need that boost and to start thinking that all things are possible. With that in mind, good things will be attracted to us. We are what we think, or dream, about. If we dream good we get good, but if we worry and fret we get what we worry and fret about.

This is rubbish. You can not be whatever you want. What about the 5′ 1″ 115lb guy who wants to be a defensive lineman in the NFL? I could list a zillion more examples, but this is worse to
me than prosperity gospel; it sets people up for failure and causes them to lose faith in God. You can be whomever God made you to be, but to believe you can be whatever you want to be is narcissistic, unholy and flat-out wrong.

  • Ed Entwistle

Bah humbug Benjamin! Taking it to the extreme wouldn’t you say? Of course there are physical limitations but the point is made, dream big with no limitations. Great message, Scott, I’m going to use these daily with my students

Maybe we should consider being what Christ wants us to be. But I get your point. God wants to mold us into his image. “For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son…”  Romans 8:29
