Twitter Is In The Bible

Every once and awhile you will run across a nugget of information that makes you go “hmm!” That’s what happened when I ran across these passages of scripture that confirm Twitter Is In The Bible:

  • Insomniac, I twitter away, mournful as a sparrow in the gutter.” Psalm 102:7 MSG
  • “Like a swallow, like a crane, so I twitter; I moan like a dove; My eyes look wistfully to the heights; O Lord, I am oppressed, be my security.” Isaiah 38:14 NAS

That’s what you call taking “Twitter” to a whole nutha’ level and confirms my 5 Reasons To Twitter During Church.

Did you know the word “Twitter” was in the Bible?   Have you seen Twitter anywhere else in the Bible?   Feel free to share any random useful/non-useful information that you may have come across.

  • Just as we all suspected…Gotta love some Twitter! 🙂

  • I wonder how those who are so adamant about the King James version feel about all of this. 🙂

  • Talk about prophetic!

  • Well done! A good headline to make folk curious about the Bible.

Well, the Message IS a paraphrase…but it’s still funny! There are several other things in the Message that are funny: the one that comes to my mind right now is from Matthew 4, when Jesus says, “Don’t you dare put the Lord your God to the test!”

Both verses in the NIV make reference to birds, which birds tweet, so looks like a valid interpretation to me. 🙂

  • Love it! Thanks for sharing that Twitter is in the Bible, this is awesome!

  • Anyone know of any way to have my ‘quiet time’ TWEETED TO me? If no one’s done this YET, this gives ME a great idea, doesn’t it? I’m sure YouVersion is working on it IF it hasn’t ALREADY done it!

That’s too funny and most awesome!

Not too sure…but i think Job wrote the first blog post…
“my life be written down on a scroll with led” meaning forever…
If you write on the internet…its pretty much forever…lol…

I am sure I’ll get flak for this but the Catholic bible does not have these words. Why is that?

Isaiah, chapter 38:14. NAB. Like a swallow I chirp; I moan like a dove. My eyes grow weary looking heavenward: Lord, I am overwhelmed; go security for me!

Psalm 102:7-8. NAB. I am like a desert owl, like an owl
among the ruins. I lie awake and moan, like a lone sparrow on the roof.
