Steve Jobs Introduces Macintosh To The World

This is a great video and reminder of an iconic figure whose legend lives on.  As a matter of fact I’m typing this post on some distant version of the 1984 computer that Steve Jobs introduces in this video.

Outside of the people yelling and screaming for the introduction of this product.  The one thing in this video that I really liked was the simple 2 word cursive writing that showed on the screen. The words were simply Insanely Great!  One thing is certain, Mac and iAnything are all insanely great.

And they kept cheering and shouting and jumping for each of his MANY creations! Great introduction to an “insanely great” computer!

    Scott,

Steve Jobs and Apple made a great product, no doubt. Revolutionary.

But what Jobs and Apple did that is for more impressive than their products, was this: they were able to give people an identity associated with having an Apple product.

If you had an Apple product you were cool; you were in the “in” crowd.

They created a cult following because people feel something when they own an Apple product; they form a identity in association with the Apple product they own. Plus, the innovation of Apple products are great.

Steve Jobs created products that made people feel and believe something about themselves.

For the record, I do own an IPod and listen to Itunes on occasion. I have a Xoom tablet (love it), Dell PC (Love Windows 7) and Droid Bionic (phone does way more than my limited technological skills can handle:)).

Bottom line. Steve Jobs and Apple are brilliant. Hopefully America will produce more Steve Jobs and companies like Apple.
