3 Years Of Blogging!
As of today, it’s been 3 years since I launched this random blog that you have come to know as BigIsTheNewSmall.com. The name for this blog was inspired by Mr. Blogger himself Seth Godin and his book Small Is the New Big; I wonder if Seth will stop by and say Happy Birthday? (Insert: Name Drop) I’ve shared some conversations w/ Seth and I love all of his books. Seth’s book Tribes was definitely a game changer for me.
BigIsTheNewSmall.com stats and Highlights:
- 3,500+ Subscribers
- Church Relevance’s Top 100 Bloggers
- 16,000+ Unique Visitors last month
- Great Conversations & Great Debates
- Some amazing companies are now sponsors
The reason that I share the numbers above is to say, “Those numbers and milestones wouldn’t happen if it wasn’t for you… the faithful BigIstheNewSmall.com readers and blogging community. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.”
I’m looking forward to all that God will do through this little blog with a BIG name in the upcoming years. I have some projects coming up that I hope you will get excited about (Insert Tease: I can’t share them at this time). Seriously, God has given me a story to share and I can’t wait to share it.
Blogging Tips:
Be Consistent- Be consistent with your content, whatever consistent means for you. What would you read more- a good newspaper that came every day, or a great newspaper that you were never sure was coming?
Find Your Voice- Find your writing/blogging voice and not the voice of your favorite blogger. Who are you? and How are you gonna share your content specialization in the unique voice that God has given you?
Know Your Purpose- It’s important to write for the right reasons. Write because you have something to share, to create discipline, because you enjoy doing it… If you write for influence alone, it’s a tough hill to climb. If you write for the right reasons, the readers and influence will follow.
Make It Worth Reading- Remember “Content Is King!”
Don’t Give Up- Keep writing and don’t give up.
